Eat & Weave

the Weeds

Foraging Walk

Paikea leads free foraging walk regularly. In 1-2 hours you'll meet many edible "weeds" around you. Meanwhile we introduce a "Pattern Recognition" approach. So you'll be able to key out new plants by their Common families, even if you go to a different bioregion.

Check the Events page for upcoming workshops.

Poor Man's WIllow Basket

You'll weave a basket using willow technique, and invasive plants. Willow isn't so common in the south east, but I found a perfect alternative: Silverthorn. It has comparable strength, pliability and beauty, and It's a category II invasive in Florida!  With the classic skills from this workshop, you can make more baskets from willow, honeysuckle, english ivy, and many other plants.
