Want more of Paikea's life story? Here's my own words:
I grew up in China and came to the States for graduate school. I earned two Masters, one in Computer Science and the other Electrical Engineering. I worked in IT in Boston, writing many lines of code. But in 2013, I let go of all possessions and travelled in an old RV. The road life and nature immersion started peeling off layers of Social Anxiety and Complex PTSD. My life purpose became clear, which is to love and heal myself, then love and heal others, and serve Mother Earth.
After those "dark nights of the soul" I've journeyed so, so, so far, so much exploration of the wilderness within and without. I'm living my purpose and peace now and enjoying the wise woman that I've become. I used to be a loner, now am celebrated by so many amazing friends, who all are "a part of the solution".
I believe for any modern person, true healing requires three things: 1) Restoring an intimate relation with the natural world. 2) Repairing "inner wilderness", meaning the personal, societal, and ancestral trauma that we all carry. 3) Finding authentic community to recover and play with.
I no longer live in a van, but is still down by the river in rural Kentucky - a tiny house with two horses on friend's 400 acres. I continue to align my work and relation with my purpose of "helping people and Earth": I teach plants, practice acupuncture with regenerative tools, organize intentional community and rewilding conferences. It's been a hero's journey! Come heal, laugh and feel fully alive with me www.Paikea.Love/events
